Balance

A balanced lifestyle is simply a state of being, in which you have the time and energy for not only obligations but pleasures too.

Like pieces of a puzzle, we too are created by many different aspects that assemble the person we are today.

You work and play, rest and expend energy, communicate with your body and soul, elevate in joy, and feel sadness. Balance is when all of the aspects of your life and self are in harmony.

And while balance is necessary, to have a satisfying, energetic, and joyful life, only you can determine what balance means to you.


Achieving balance requires that you assess what is important to you. We live in a world full of different beliefs and opinions, so one person’s way can be completely different to the next person.

In creating a balanced lifestyle, you need to find out how much time and energy you are willing to devote to the different areas of your life.

Imagine that your life is a pie with many slices. Each slice is a piece of your life, and the size of each piece is determined according to the amount of importance you assign to that aspect of your life; family, solitude, activities, work, health (physical and mental), indulgences, exercise and working on self.


If you find that certain elements of your life take up an unreasonable amount of time, energy, or effort that leave you with few resources to nurture the other aspects of your life, you may want to spend less time on these activities and more on the ones that fulfill you.

Can you think of anything you should devote less time to; how about the things that you'd like to do more of?


A balanced lifestyle is simply a state of being, in which you have the time and energy for not only obligations but pleasures too; time to live well and in a gratifying way. Because this is it, you have arrived there is no more waiting for something to happen for you to start living your best balanced life; the time is now.


And yes, with its many nuances, balance can be a difficult concept to integrate into your life. But what are you going to do about it?


The good news is that we have a choice about how we live our lives, the activities we want to be involved in and the people we want to share it with.

Pay attention to the signs your life may be out of balance, and start taking steps today to regain your sense of control and life balance.


Just like anything in life, it takes time and effort to overcome your habitual patterns to create new ones. If you are focused and intentional, then there is a good chance you will create new habits to enjoy a more balanced life going forward.


And remember - you are working hard, dedicated, and awesome.
