Does what I wear offend you?

Don't get me wrong, I have my fair share of pet peeves; like phony made up nicknames that didn't happen organically, dishes in the sink and/or the dish rag hanging on the sink faucet. Two of these things I can fix myself and it's not a real problem (plus they rarely happen in my home, so we're good) and the other one is a petty thing I can choose to ignore.

Anyhow, my point is, we all have things that don't sit right with us, they're annoying and they bug us. But when does it become something you carry with you, something that's a part of your daily life; being offended.

For instance when and who decided that a certain outfit annoyed others? I mean how did leggings become inappropriate? Do my eating habits bother you? If I only use a fork and a piece of bread to enjoy my meal, do you consider this the wrong way to eat? Is the knife necessary, to be proper? Is your way the correct way? And why is it that?

When I say "being offended", I'm not talking about common sense good matters; being polite and respectful, I'm talking about silly ass stupid things that offend you. The stuff that doesn't hurt anyone or is against the law, I'm talking about my beautiful friends big bust in a fitted shirt or someone letting their kid get dirty in the mud. Or how heated an online conversation/debate can get about how the toilet paper is supposed to hang. I mean come on people, isn't the most important thing about toilet paper, the fact that there IS toilet paper!?!?!?!

What makes someone so offended by these things? Have you noticed what ticks you off? Are there things you should just let go and mind your own God damn business?

I guess it could be that some are so insecure about who they are and so desperate to be offended that they are haunted by the fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.

Oh, did you know that in some parts of the world they actually wash their shitty asses after going to the bathroom, they think wiping your behind with tissue is just disgusting?

Maybe we should let people be who they are and do what they feel comfortable doing. Maybe we should treat everyone with some dignity, even the ones who do things a little different then we are use to. And maybe, just maybe I make leggings look good?
