Actually Awesome Last Minute Christmas Gifts

Writer: Sarah M.Sarah M.

Scrambling for last-minute gift ideas? Don't worry, I got cha!

I hesitated on writing this post because I’ve seen so many wonderful gift guides done by other bloggers that I felt like a) I had nothing to add and b) does it really fit with my blogging style? But I couldn’t resist and let’s face it: finding the perfect gift in time for the holidays can sometimes feel overwhelming. I get it.  I too find myself occasionally scrambling on last minute Christmas gifts, which is nothing to be ashamed of. With this blog post I am hoping I can ease the struggle and provide you with some simple and easy ideas for all you last-minute shoppers.

1. Audio Book (i.e. Audible, BookBeat) It’s the perfect gift for anyone who loves books but is too tricky to actually pick a book for. Most sites allow you to pay for a 3, 6 or 12 month membership, where you can include a little note with some suggestions of audio books you think they’ll love.

2. Notes on a Deck of Cards

I've used regular playing cards to do this wonderful gift for many of my loved ones, and it's been one of the best things I have ever gifted. You buy a deck of cards (you could even thrift a vintage deck) and on each card you write down (with a permanent marker) something nice about that person or maybe 52 reasons why you love them. Simple and cute.

3. Gift Card

Now, for some reason a lot of people think that gift cards are not personal enough, that you didn't think about the gift receiver and took the easy route. But I cannot stress enough on why gift cards are the best gift. We live in a world where there is so much stuff that buying something they might like is a waste of money, time and isn't the best for our environment, so I say yes to gift cards, that way the person can get what they truly want; be it their favorite cup of coffee and a delicious donut or the beautiful sweater they have been eyeballing all season.

4. Movie Tickets

This has to be one of the most used gift idea in our family, yet it is one of the greatest ones. We're always going to the movies and this gift will always get used. Usually movie ticket vouchers are valid up to 6 to 12 months which is plenty of time to use them.

5. DIY Body Scrubs

The internet is full of recipes on how to make your own body scrub and I think this gift is wonderful for anyone really, everyone needs a good exfoliation every once in a while.

For a sugar scrub you'll need 2 cups sugar, 1 cup coconut oil and (optional) several drops of essential oil. Combine all ingredients in a jar and mix gently. Add a bow or some twine and tadaa, you're done. (I also have a coffee scrub recipe on my Instagram if you'd prefer that - LINK)

With the busyness of the holiday season swirling around us, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of shopping and preparing for all of the festivities. And if you are anything like me who found herself lost in the new mall the other day, most of these gifts can be easily purchased or made in the comfort of your own home, which makes Christmas shopping that much easier.

There you have it friends, a few last minute gift ideas for literally anyone you know. Do you have any go-to last-minute gifts? Did you do any DIY projects this year? Let me know in the comments or on Instagram.

Thank you for reading and sharing my blog I really do appreciate it.
